Candle Care & Safety

To get the most from your candle—and to enjoy it safely—it's important to follow a few simple care tips. Whether you're lighting one of our signature scents or exploring a new fragrance, these practices will ensure a longer, cleaner, and more enjoyable burn every time.

First Burn Matters

When lighting your candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt across the entire surface of the jar. This may take 2–3 hours, depending on the size (our candles are 300g). Allowing a full melt pool prevents tunneling and helps your candle burn evenly for its entire life.

Trim Your Wick

Before each use, trim the wick to approximately 5mm. This keeps the flame controlled, reduces soot, and ensures a longer-lasting candle. For wooden wicks, gently snap off any charred edges once the candle has cooled.

Burn Time

Do not burn your candle for more than 3–4 hours at a time. This helps preserve the fragrance and prevents the jar from overheating. Always allow the candle to cool completely before relighting.

Extinguishing Your Candle

Blowing out your candle can cause the wax to splatter and may lead to smoking. Instead, use a snuffer or gently dip the wick into the wax and straighten it back up—this will reduce smoke and help prime the wick for the next use.

Where to Burn

Always place your candle on a heat-resistant, stable surface, away from drafts, curtains, pets, and children. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

General Safety Tips

-Keep candles away from anything flammable

- Do n0t move a burning candle. Wait until the wax is cooled and solidified

- Do not use when 1cm remains in the bottom on the jar

- Never use water to extinguish a candle

- Keep wicks trimmed and cented to avoid high flames and uneven burning

Storage

Store candles in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. This helps preserve the fragrance and quality of the wax. If your candle develops any surface imperfections, know that this is normal for natural soy wax and won’t affect its performance.
